The Uganda People’s Defence Forces has opened a multi-million state of the art garage in Karamoja. The garage, which cost government about Shs1b, was on Friday opened by the Chief of Defence Forces, Gen. Aronda Nyakairima.
According to a statement by 3rd Division army spokesperson Capt. Deo Akiiki, the facility, situated in Moroto Barracks, will be open for both the army and the general public. Gen. Nyakairima, accompanied by the chief of Logistics and Engineering, Col Victor Twesigye, and the commander of the Engineering Brigade, Brig. Jack Sabiiti, implored the public and NGOs to utilise the facility for professional repairs at no fee.
However, he said army officers who bring in their personal vehicles will have to foot the cost.
