On this Tuesday November 7th, 2012, Gen Charles-Henri Delcour, the Belgian Chief of Defence held talks with his Rwandan counterpart, Lt Gen Charles Kayonga, the RDF Chief of Defence Staff. Their discussions mainly focused on the existing military cooperation between their respective Armed Forces. In this regard, the two Chiefs explored what have been achieved so far, the ongoing programs as well as possible new areas of cooperation.
After meeting the CDS, General Delcour was received by the Minister of Defence. Earlier in the morning the Belgian Chief of Defence toured Zigama CSS and Rwanda Military Hospital where he received briefing on the achievements of the two Institutions. He also visited Camp Kigali Memorial Site to honor the Belgian peacekeepers killed during the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi before touring and paying respect to 1994 genocide victims at Kigali Genocide Memorial Center.
