A new building that will host henceforth the Joint Operations Centre (JOC) was inaugurated today by the Minister of Defence, Gen James Kabarebe in collaboration with his colleague in charge of Internal security, Mussa Fazil Harerimana. The building is located at police headquarters, in Gasabo District.
The inauguration of the building coincided with the celebration of the second anniversary of the ‘joint of operations’ system, whereby on daily basis all security organs countrywide synergize their respective activities to maintain national security.
That system, unique to Rwanda, as it was recalled by Minister KABAREBE, was adopted in 2010 as a home grown solution to deal with terrorist activities the country was facing. The Minister highlighted that the system will be maintained and supported as much as possible, since any form of insecurity, whatever its magnitude, cannot be tolerated on the Rwandan territory.
Gen Kabarebe took the opportunity to congratulate Rwanda Defence Forces, National Police, National Intelligence Security Services and Rwanda Correctional Services for the job well done during the past two years, and urged them to maintain that pace, seeking always to achieve more even some times with scarce resources.
